Heterodisperse

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005238

Describing a system, such as a colloid or polymer solution, in which the dispersed particles or molecules exhibit a range of different sizes, shapes, or molecular weights. This contrasts with a monodisperse system, where all particles are essentially identical. The degree of heterodispersity can be quantified by statistical measures like the polydispersity index.
