Hypoblast
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005540
A layer of cells that forms in the early mammalian embryo, contributing to the formation of the extraembryonic membranes. This inner cell mass derivative is distinct from the epiblast, which gives rise to the embryo proper. The hypoblast cells contribute to the yolk sac and do not form part of the fetus.
