Image dissection tube
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005594
A type of vacuum tube used as a radiation detector, particularly for ultraviolet and visible light. It operates by converting an optical image into an electrical signal through photoemission and subsequent electron multiplication. This device was an early form of imaging sensor, preceding modern charge-coupled devices.
