Streak tube
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011467
A type of image converter tube that converts an optical image into an electron image, which is then swept across a phosphor screen by a rapidly changing electric field. This sweeping action transforms temporal variations in the optical signal into spatial variations on the screen. The device is capable of recording ultrafast optical phenomena with picosecond or femtosecond resolution.
