Iminyl radicals

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005612

Neutral organic radicals containing an unpaired electron on a nitrogen atom that is double-bonded to a carbon atom. These species are highly reactive and are typically generated by the homolytic cleavage of N-X bonds or by the addition of radicals to nitriles. Iminyl radicals participate in numerous reactions, including cyclizations and additions to unsaturated systems.
