Laser micro mass spectrometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006463
A mass spectrometry technique that uses a focused laser beam to ablate and ionize a microscopic region of a solid sample. The resulting ions are then analyzed by a mass spectrometer to determine the elemental or molecular composition of the ablated area. This method provides spatially resolved chemical information from surfaces.
