Michaelis constant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007298
A measure of the substrate concentration at which an enzyme reaction rate is half of its maximum velocity (Vmax). It reflects the affinity of an enzyme for its substrate, with a lower value indicating higher affinity. This constant is a fundamental parameter in Michaelis-Menten kinetics, describing enzyme-catalyzed reactions.
