Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007304

A high-throughput analytical tool consisting of a solid surface, such as a glass slide or silicon chip, onto which thousands of microscopic spots of biological molecules are arrayed in an ordered manner. Each spot contains a specific probe, such as DNA, RNA, proteins, or glycans, designed to bind to a target molecule in a sample. Microarrays are widely used for parallel detection and quantification of biomolecules.
