More O'Ferrall-Jencks diagram

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007575

A two-dimensional reaction coordinate diagram that illustrates the energy changes during a chemical reaction, particularly for concerted reactions with variable transition states. It plots the progress of two bond changes simultaneously, allowing visualization of how the transition state structure shifts in response to changes in reactant or catalyst properties. This diagram is often used to analyze the mechanisms of elimination reactions and nucleophilic substitutions.
