Nanocomposite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007744
A multiphase material where at least one of the constituent phases has at least one dimension in the nanometer range (typically 1 to 100 nm). These materials exhibit enhanced properties compared to conventional composites due to the high surface area to volume ratio of the nanoscale components. Examples include polymer matrices reinforced with carbon nanotubes or nanoclay.
