Nanoencapsulation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007751
The process of enclosing an active substance, such as a drug, inside nanoparticles that form a shell or matrix around it, with typical particle diameters of tens to a few hundred nanometres. The shell or matrix protects sensitive compounds and controls their release, and it can raise the solubility of poorly soluble ones. Polymers, lipids and proteins are common wall materials.
