Neuronopathy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007884

A pathological condition characterized by the degeneration or death of the neuronal cell body itself, rather than primarily affecting the axon or myelin sheath. This leads to a loss of neuronal function and can result in severe neurological deficits. Neuronopathies are distinct from neuropathies, which primarily affect peripheral nerves.
