Myelin-associated glycoprotein
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007722
A transmembrane glycoprotein found in the periaxonal membrane of myelinating glial cells in both the central and peripheral nervous systems. It functions in the adhesion between the myelin sheath and the axon, and also modulates axonal outgrowth and regeneration. This protein is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily.
