Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007942

An intramolecular migration of a hydrogen atom or other substituent during the enzymatic hydroxylation of an aromatic ring. This rearrangement occurs when an arene oxide intermediate is formed, leading to the retention of a label (e.g., deuterium) at the site of hydroxylation. It was first observed at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
