Nude mouse
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008151
A specific strain of laboratory mouse characterized by a genetic mutation that results in an absent or severely underdeveloped thymus gland. This deficiency leads to a compromised immune system, particularly lacking mature T lymphocytes. Nude mice are extensively used in immunology and cancer research as models for studying tumor growth, transplantation, and the effects of immunomodulatory drugs.
