Optical yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008281
A measure of how faithfully chirality is transferred in a reaction: the optical purity of the product divided by the optical purity of the chiral precursor, reagent or catalyst that induced it, quoted as a percentage. It differs from enantiomeric excess and has no relation to the chemical yield, which counts how much product forms.
