Performance characteristic of a measurement procedure

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008631

A functional quality used to describe and evaluate the capabilities of an analytical measurement procedure, quantifying how well it performs a specific measurement task. These characteristics include accuracy, precision, trueness, sensitivity, selectivity, and the working range. Performance characteristics are determined during method validation studies to assess the fitness-for-purpose of the method, often following guidelines from organizations like ISO or Eurachem.
