Phosphonic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013388
Organic phosphorus compounds with the general formula RP(O)(OH)2, where R represents an organyl group. These are diprotic acids, meaning they can donate two protons. They contain a phosphorus atom directly bonded to one carbon atom, one oxygen atom via a double bond, and two hydroxyl groups.
