Photodecarboxylation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008839
A photochemical reaction in which a carbon dioxide (CO2) molecule is eliminated from a carboxylic acid or its derivative upon absorption of light. This process typically involves the formation of radical intermediates. It is a method for generating alkyl or aryl radicals from carboxylic acid precursors.
