Photogalvanic cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008870
An electrochemical cell that generates an electric current when exposed to light, due to light-induced redox reactions in the electrolyte. Unlike photovoltaic cells, the light primarily affects the electrolyte rather than the electrodes directly. These cells convert light energy into electrical energy through photoredox reactions in solution.
