Photogenerated catalysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008871
Catalysis in which light is used only to create a catalytically active species, such as a radical, a metal complex or a surface site, which then keeps catalysing the reaction after the illumination is switched off. It therefore differs from photocatalysis, where the catalyst depends on continuing light absorption to stay active.
