Piezoelectric polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008968

A polymeric material that generates an electric charge in response to applied mechanical stress, and conversely, undergoes mechanical deformation when an electric field is applied. This property arises from the alignment of dipoles within the polymer structure. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) is a common example of such a polymer.
