Plasma assisted desorption ionization mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009007

A mass spectrometry technique where a plasma is used to desorb and ionize analytes from a sample surface for subsequent mass analysis. The plasma provides energetic species that interact with the sample, leading to the release of intact molecules or fragments. This method is often employed for direct analysis of samples in ambient conditions.
