Polyphenylenemethylene
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009222
A polymer characterized by a backbone composed of phenylene units linked by methylene (-CH2-) bridges. These polymers exhibit high thermal stability and rigidity due to the aromatic rings and the strong covalent bonds in their structure. They are often used in high-performance composites and as precursors for carbon materials, offering good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.
