Prokaryote

A single-celled organism that lacks a membrane-bound nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles. Its genetic material, typically a single circular chromosome, is located in the cytoplasm. Bacteria and archaea are the two main domains of prokaryotes, which are characterized by their simple cellular structure and rapid reproduction.
