Roughness factor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010442

The ratio of the true surface area of a material to its apparent or geometric surface area. This factor quantifies the extent of microscopic irregularities and undulations on a surface. A higher roughness factor indicates a more irregular surface, which can influence properties such as adhesion, catalysis, and wettability.
