Spectral width

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011154

The span of frequencies covered by the window in which signals of one nucleus type are recorded in an NMR experiment, also called the sweep width. It must be wide enough to contain every resonance of that nucleus, and with quadrature detection it equals the reciprocal of the dwell time between data points. It is quoted in hertz or in parts per million of the spectrometer frequency.
