Stored waveform inverse fourier transform

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011451

A method used in Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry to excite ions to detectable cyclotron radii. This technique applies a tailored radiofrequency waveform to the ion trap, which is the inverse Fourier transform of the desired ion excitation profile. It provides precise control over which ions are excited and to what extent.
