TdT-dependent dUTP-biotin nick end labeling assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011839
A biochemical method used to detect DNA fragmentation, a hallmark of apoptosis, by labeling the free 3'-hydroxyl termini of DNA breaks. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) adds biotinylated deoxyuridine triphosphate (dUTP) to these ends, which are then detected using streptavidin conjugated to a fluorochrome or enzyme. This assay is widely employed in cell biology and toxicology to quantify apoptotic cells.
