Thermosetting polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011989

A polymer that undergoes an irreversible chemical reaction upon heating, forming a highly cross-linked, rigid, three-dimensional network structure. Once cured, these polymers cannot be melted or reshaped without degrading. Examples include epoxy resins and phenolic resins, which are known for their high strength and thermal stability.
