Thermospray ionization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011993
A soft ionization technique used in mass spectrometry, where a liquid sample is rapidly heated and sprayed through a narrow orifice into a vacuum. This process generates charged droplets that desolvate to produce gas-phase ions. It is particularly suitable for analyzing polar, non-volatile, and thermally labile compounds.
