Thyrotoxicosis

A clinical syndrome resulting from excessive thyroid hormone action in tissues, regardless of the source. It is characterized by symptoms such as increased metabolism, weight loss, rapid heart rate, and anxiety. The most common cause is hyperthyroidism, where the thyroid gland itself produces too much hormone.
