TICT state
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012056
A twisted intramolecular charge transfer state, formed when a molecule undergoes a substantial change in its geometry upon excitation, leading to a separation of charge. This state often involves a large dihedral angle between donor and acceptor moieties within the same molecule. TICT states are characterized by a large Stokes shift in their fluorescence emission compared to the locally excited state.
