Trachea
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012191
A cartilaginous tube that extends from the larynx to the bronchi, serving as the primary airway for conducting air to and from the lungs. It is lined with ciliated epithelial cells and mucus-producing goblet cells that trap foreign particles. The trachea is reinforced by C-shaped rings of hyaline cartilage, which prevent its collapse.
