Triple point
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012290
The specific temperature and pressure at which three phases of a substance (typically solid, liquid, and gas) coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium. At this unique point, all three phases are stable and can interconvert without a change in temperature or pressure. For water, the triple point is defined as 273.16 K (0.01 °C) and 611.657 Pa.
