Uterotrophic

Describing a substance or effect that causes an increase in the size or weight of the uterus. This change is typically due to the stimulation of estrogen receptors within the uterine tissue, leading to cell proliferation and hypertrophy. Uterotrophic assays are used in toxicology to detect compounds with estrogenic or antiestrogenic activity.
