Wavelength converter
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013699
A device or material that absorbs electromagnetic radiation at one wavelength and re-emits it at a different wavelength. These converters are often used to shift radiation into a more convenient or detectable spectral region. Examples include phosphors that convert UV light to visible light, or scintillators that convert X-rays to visible light for detection.
