Anisotropy
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003522
The property of being anisotropic, where a material or system exhibits different characteristics when measured along different axes or directions. This concept is relevant in atmospheric optics, where the scattering of light by atmospheric particles can be direction-dependent. For instance, the polarization of scattered sunlight demonstrates atmospheric anisotropy.
