Form drag
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005724
The component of aerodynamic drag that arises from the pressure differences created by the shape of an object moving through a fluid, such as air. In meteorology, this applies to obstacles like mountains or buildings, where the air flow separates and creates regions of lower pressure downstream. It is distinct from skin friction drag, which results from viscous forces.
