Moll thermopile
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007389
A type of radiation sensor consisting of multiple thermocouples connected in series, designed to measure incident thermal radiation. The junctions are arranged to maximize the voltage output in response to temperature differences created by absorbed radiation. It is often used in pyranometers and pyrheliometers to measure solar radiation in meteorological applications.
