Thermopile
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009618
A device composed of multiple thermocouples connected in series, used to measure temperature or radiant heat flux. It generates a voltage proportional to the temperature difference between its hot and cold junctions, making it suitable for detecting small changes in thermal energy. Thermopiles are often used in radiometers to measure solar or terrestrial radiation.
