Surface wind
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009455
The horizontal movement of air measured at a standard height above the Earth's surface, typically 10 meters (33 feet) in open terrain. This wind is influenced by pressure gradients, the Coriolis effect, and frictional drag from the underlying terrain. It is a fundamental meteorological parameter used in weather forecasting, aviation, and agricultural applications.
