Acid inhibitor
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004211
A chemical additive used in acidizing treatments to reduce the corrosive attack of the acid on downhole tubulars and equipment. These compounds form a protective film on metal surfaces, minimizing material degradation while allowing the acid to react with reservoir rock. The effectiveness of an inhibitor depends on temperature, acid concentration, and contact time.
