Earthquake

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001235

A sudden and rapid shaking of the Earth's surface caused by the release of energy in the Earth's lithosphere, typically resulting from the sudden movement of tectonic plates along a fault. This energy radiates outwards in seismic waves. Earthquakes can induce ground motion, liquefaction, and tsunamis, posing risks to oil and gas infrastructure.
