Hydrogen-induced failures
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001914
Material failures in steel components resulting from the presence and diffusion of hydrogen atoms within the metal structure. These failures manifest as cracking, blistering, or reduced ductility, often occurring under sustained stress. They are a major concern in sour service conditions where hydrogen sulfide is present.
