Oil bank
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002594
A zone of accumulated oil that forms ahead of the displacing fluid front during an enhanced oil recovery process, such as waterflooding or chemical flooding. As the injected fluid pushes the reservoir oil, it mobilizes and concentrates the oil into a distinct band. The size and integrity of the oil bank are indicators of the efficiency of the displacement process.
