Tight emulsion
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003841
A stable mixture of two immiscible liquids, such as oil and water, where one liquid is finely dispersed as droplets within the other, and the droplets resist coalescence. This stability often results from the presence of natural emulsifying agents like asphaltenes, resins, or fine solids at the oil-water interface. Such emulsions require chemical demulsifiers, heat, or electrostatic treatment to separate the oil and water phases.
