Albedo
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000363
The fraction of incident electromagnetic radiation, typically solar radiation, that is reflected by a surface or object. It is a dimensionless quantity, expressed as a value between 0 and 1, or as a percentage. Surfaces with high albedo, like fresh snow, reflect most radiation, while surfaces with low albedo, like asphalt, absorb most radiation.
