Blowdown
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001397
The controlled release of a portion of the circulating water from a cooling tower or boiler system to prevent the buildup of dissolved solids. This process maintains the concentration of impurities within acceptable limits, thereby preventing scaling and corrosion. Blowdown water often requires treatment before discharge to meet environmental regulations.
