Cavitation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001756
The formation of vapor-filled bubbles or cavities within a liquid, typically due to a rapid reduction in pressure. In biological contexts, this phenomenon can occur in tissues exposed to high-intensity ultrasound or rapid decompression. This process can lead to tissue damage or disruption of cellular structures.
